Thai League newly-crowned champions will arrive in Laos to participate in a friendly tournament, according to an official statement from Laos Premier League.

The Thai club is scheduled to play two matches in Laos, against Laos All-Star and Japanese side Sanfrecce Hiroshima. The matches will be played in late January 2017.

Muangthong United has won the 2016 Thai League season with 80 points from 31 matches, although the league was canceled early following to the passing of King Bhumibol Adulyadej.

Sanfrecce Hiroshima finished sixth in the domestic J1 League last season.
