Sarayut Sompim ruled out for AFF U19 Championship due to injury

Thailand U19 defender Sarayut Sompim has suffered a foot injury in a recent training and will not participate in the 2016 AFF U19 Championship, the team coach Anurak Srikerd confirmed.

“We have trained for two days, but today we have some bad news. Sarayut Sompim has suffered a foot injury that ruled him out of action for a month and a half, and we have to send him back [to Thailand]”, the coach said in a conference.

Thailand was drawn into group B of the tournament, along with Laos, Myanmar, Australia, Cambodia and Indonesia.

This is the first youth tournament in 2016 for new manager Anurak Srikerd, who has been appointed recently to replace Chalermwoot Sa-ngapol, after the latter’s resignation due to poor results in the 2016 U19 KBZ Bank Cup last month.
